December Update from the Principal

Happy December!

While the weather has started to turn in the last couple weeks, we are still going strong here at West Ottawa High School.  There have been numerous memorable events recently, and there will surely be more as we enter our Season of Caring.

Recently, we held our annual Veterans Day Assembly.  This is a special event each year, and this year was no exception.  Please click here to view the celebration.

The cast, crew and musicians recently performed their last showing of The Addams Family.  The students and teachers did a magnificent job on the television show favorite.  It was spooky and scary, and funny and amazing!

WOHS Season of Caring

Make sure you follow West Ottawa High School closely over the next few weeks as our annual Season of Caring takes place.  The yearly Toy Drive will occur as students collect toys and gifts for over 100 students in our community.  Senior Survivor will return as contestants try to outwit, outplay and outlast the competition while raising money for the WOPS internal charity “When In Need West Ottawa”.  The entire Season of Caring will culminate with an assembly where we will announce the Senior Survivor champion.

New Chromebooks for 10th Grade Students

Thanks to our wonderful community and the support of recent bonds, the new cycle for Chromebook replacements will begin this year.  All 6th, 7th and 10th grade students will receive new Chromebooks in the near future.  10th Grade students will receive their new device on December 5, 10, 12 or 17 based on instructions they receive.

Students must:

1.  Bring your current Chromebook and charger in order to receive a new device.
2.  Bring your school ID
3.  Pay any outstanding fees prior to your pick-up day

Thank you for all of your support so far this school year.  Please find time to spend with friends, family and loved ones over the school breaks.  We look forward to continuing our mission of “preparing all students to be college, career and life ready!”

Thank you, and as always, Go WO!
Mr. Reinecke
