Ms. Anderson and I, Ms.Ramos, are the new college advisers at West Ottawa High School. We are here to help high school seniors prepare for their post-secondary education. We have some upcoming events that we would love for you all to attend.
Since FAFSA opened yesterday, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. We are hosting an event on Wednesday, October 3 from 3-5 pm in the South Building Room 502 to help seniors and parents create their FSA ID’s. This is an online signature that is required for the FAFSA to be submitted. The verification process takes 1-3 days so having this done soon is beneficial.
* For the FSA ID Day you will need your student(s) social security number and your own social security number. The FSA ID will take 10-15 minutes. Also, have your seniors bring their charged Chromebooks.*
On October 15, at 6 pm in the North cafeteria, we will be hosting a Financial Aid night to help students and parents fill out the FAFSA and to learn more about how completing the FAFSA helps. This night will include a presentation by a Hope College staff member, along with an opportunity for students and parents to fill out the FAFSA. We will also have representatives from Aquinas College and Muskegon Community College at the event to provide assistance. We will also have a presentation for the Spanish speaking families.
Please note that these are two different events. A FSA ID must be created prior to completing the FAFSA.
