News from West Ottawa High School

Welcome Back! September 2019 Update from the Principal

West Ottawa High School Students and Families,

The new school year has begun and we know that it is going to be another great school year at WOHS.

Among the many faculty changes, there are two administrative moves that I would like to highlight.  Audra Bolhuis recently transitioned from WOHS ELA teacher to Assistant Principal .   Also, Steve Bowyer will now serve as the Aquatics Director / Assistant Athletic Director while continuing to coach WOHS swim teams.  We are extremely excited to have both of these committed educators a part of our admin team.

2020 Niche Report recently named WOHS the #1 Traditional High School in Ottawa County.  Additionally, West Ottawa Public Schools was ranked the #1 School District in Ottawa County, while two WOPS elementary schools were named #1 and #2 in Ottawa County.  This recognition is possible because of a supportive community and an amazing teaching staff across the entire district.

A special, warm welcome to our Class of 2023.  It was great seeing all of you come through Registration.  You are entering “a special place; where special things happen.”  Remember to find a way to get connected and involved at WOHS.  Reach out to your Seminar Teacher, Counselor or any adult if you need help finding a club or activity.EBznEJjXkAAym_c

Thank you, and as always Go WO!!

Mr. Reinecke
