Find out where to access information regarding high school scheduling, important summer dates, as well as how to prepare for the college conversations that will begin to take place once your child enters high school. After the meeting, please plan to check out all of the great courses and extra-curricular offerings at the High School Showcase.
7-8 pm: High School Showcase in North Main Street
West Ottawa High School features 12 curricular departments featuring nearly 200 course offerings. We offer the largest selection of Advanced Placement (20) and International Baccalaureate (15) courses of any school in West Michigan. These advanced offerings allow WO students to graduate high school with multiple college credits already under their belt before even stepping foot on their respective college campuses. Elective offerings outnumber every other school in Ottawa County, including award winning programs in music, the arts, business and marketing, as well as industrial technology and advanced manufacturing. See our online course guide for more information.
West Ottawa High School is proud to offer a vast array of extra curricular opportunities for its students. The school boasts over 30 after-school clubs open to all students. These clubs cover a range of interests including state and nationally recognized Robotics, Broadcast Journalism, and Science Olympiad programs. Others include foreign language clubs which promote and organize summer study-abroad opportunities. Model United Nations, Running Club, Ping Pong Club, and Knitting Club are just a few of the many options students have for after-school involvement. Young Republicans and Young Democrats are two after school clubs which promote governmental and political awareness and involvement among WOHS students. And yes, they even learn how to work together to sponsor activities! For a complete list see our WOHS Clubs website.
At the showcase, teachers and counselors will be on hand to describe course offerings to incoming parents and students as well as perspective families. Travel the school at your leisure and view student work as you stop by booths hosted by current students and faculty. Come check out the vast opportunities available to students, making West Ottawa High School the school of choice in West Michigan.
